Re: Had surgery and need addtional threapy. Looking for AdviceFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Aug 10 22:17:44 2006
Hi, I took Lupron as a virgin. I've had menapause before sex and I regret it. My vagina has been dry and inflammed since the Lupron stopped most of the pain, and it did do that much. But it also caused vaginal dryness and burning. I would not wish menopause on a newly wed, much less Lupron. I know there are things out there that say Lupron can shrink endo and give pain relief even after you're off it, but I haven't seen a single post of someone reporting that experience. Instead I see people posting that in some percentage of cases Lupron's negative effects last a year or more beyond the therapy. My experience may be extreme because I couldn't tolerate add back, but I feel like my GYN should have predicted that since I couldn't tolerate BC pills either. If I were you, I'd seek an endo specialist, check out the list on http://www.endo-resolved.com or call the Endo Assn. When I finally got on the phone with one, his reponse to hearing I was on Lupron was "I'm sorry, most women hate that drug." Also, you can get your records reviewed by the CEC (I think for free) or by Dr. Redwine for $125. There are better ways to attack this disease than GNRH agonists. Just my strongly felt two cents.
