Lori,
I had a very similar situation happen to me on day 3 of my last period,
Luckily it was a Sunday and I didn't have to go to work or else I don't
think I would of made it. I was sitting having a phone conversation and
instantly the most excruciating pain hit me I was completley doubled
over I can only compare it with child birth, I was home alone with my 6
year old son. Luckily my sister lives down the street and called my
doctor, the one pain pill I had taken did not touch the pain, basically
the doctor told me to take 1 Ultram, 2 tylenol 3's and 1 800mg Ibprofen
at one time, or else go get a shot of moriphine at the ER. I took all
the pills orally and it did subside, although I was completley comatose
for the rest of the day. It was the worst pain episode yet and lasted
for two hours. After this occured I starting doing more and more
research and now I am in the process of sending my records to the CEC in
Atlanta. I am willing to try anything at this point. It defintly can't
make any matters worse, my doctors here said there is nothing else they
can do except provide pain pills. My insurance does not cover natural
treatments, etc and I can't really afford to pay out of pocket for
those. I have drastically changed my diet after reading a book on
nutritional approaches to endo but that hasn't really helped, things are
progressively worse, so now all my hope is in the CEC, I have had
contact with them on a few occasions and they are optimistic they can
get me out of the 20 plus days of pain I have per month. Good Luck
