Lea,
Thanks again for that information. I actually have an appointment with
another Urogynecologist (This will be the 4th OB/GYN that I have seen
w/i the past year) Thursday August 3rd 2006. I will mention this to
him. I am hoping this time they put me on the correct antibiotics. And,
alot of times the doctor does not follow up & see if the antiobiotics
has gotten rid of the BV. I will make sure of that this time. My
husband, that is another story. He just does not want to go to the
doctor. I will have to ask my doctor if he will prescribe extra
antiobiotics for him. I have been doing much research & I have come to
the conclusion that I keep getting BV that is not treated properly to
begin with (or is not treated at all) & that is why I am told I have a
UTI but Urine Cultures come back negative. Then the BV goes for so long
it ends up getting into my Urinary Tract & then I do get a Urinary Tract
Infection because of it & then I get put on antiobiotics for the UTI (of
course in the meantime I am still not being treated for the BV) & then
the antibiotics make my BV worse. It is like a cycle because of the
doctors misdiagnosing. This is just really awful. How should I go
about getting my husband to go to the doctor & what should I have him
ask them to do? I know the last time he was in the ER (He & I spoke
about it the other night & we think that he did have BV & was not
diagnosed for it) he was having pressure & pain & they did all kinds of
tests & could not find anything wrong so they just put him on
antiobiotics & sent him on his way. Of course, he did get better with
the antiobiotics. Its sad when it is us the patient that has to do the
work of the doctor.
