Re: LupronFrom: Shawna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jul 27 18:20:35 2006
Hello Barbara. I have had two laparoscopies and was on Lupron from April 4 to July. I'm very, very thankful that I tried it! The Lupron really has helped with my daily Endo pain, but has not helped with my Adenomyosis. Because my body responded so well and had minimal side effects, I will have my second shot in 2 to 3 months. In my opinion, I believe that a truly healthy body will have an easier time adjusting to Lupron. I always exercised with Winsor Pilates because it's low impact and didn't jar my insides. I ate only healthy foods: little sugar/sweets, avoided red meat and alcohol, and ate plenty fruits and vegetables. Make sure you take vitamins!!!! Lupron can cause bone density loss, so I can not stress taking vitamins enough! I took a daily multi-vitamin in the morning. At night, I took extra Calcium Citrate plus Vitamin D. (My doctor told me to take the extra calcium at separate time so the body can absorb it better.) Also, try to get as much sleep as you can. In the first month, I had had a lot of migraines. In the 2nd and 3rd month, I was bloated, experienced night sweats and had a lot of hot flashes. I was very, very lucky! As I wrote, my daily Endo pain has decreased dramatically and I have more energy. I hope that the second shot will help to decrease my period pain. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me privately. Good luck and I hope Lupron helps you! Take care, Shawna J
