Re: BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS??? PLEASE RESPOND!!!

This is a question that shows up in my inbox a lot!

First: Bacterial Vaginosis - despite what the CDC says - is NOT an STD.

Second: Bacterial Vaginosis - despite what the CDC says and many doctors believe - requires treatment of the woman AND her partner for complete elimination. Men usually do not have symptoms and can easily re-infect the woman.

Third: Bacterial Vaginosis IS a cause behind many repeated miscarriages.

There are no home remedies as it is a true bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. Sometimes it takes 2 full courses to bring it to resolution.

If you have had BV and have suffered a miscarriage then you and your partner should both be treated through a full course of antibiotics and retested. You should not attempt conception until BOTH of you test negative.

Hope this helps clear some of the myths and confusion that surround BV.
