i had a colonoscopy a few years ago. i don't have ibs, but i had non-specific colitis. they gave me some meds, and it cleared up in a few months. the scope wasn't bad. the prep sucked though. that was the hardest part. i was awake for the scope, but they gave me versed, so i didn't really notice much. i had pain in a couple of areas during the procedure. the only thing i really remember is i was severely dehydrated. be sure to drink water if they allow it. i didn't and ended up having to stay longer at the surgery center because of it.
