Re: I've heard rumors, but not sure if they are true...

I agree that this is such a misconception. I have no personal proof,
but with all of the women we talk to on this site who have
children...and struggle with endo, I just can't put any faith in it.
My doctor actually leaned into me when I was in his office a couple of
weeks ago and said "You know what will cure this don't you?" (inside I
am rolling my eyes and biting my tongue) "No, what?" I say. "You need
to get pregnant. That'll take care of it and you won't have these
problems anymore".
In my case I have been through every continuous hormone therapy except
Lupron and my endo still grows like wild fire. I really believe that
for those women who find success with hormone suppression therapies,
pregnancy likely gives them a nice break from the endo effects. I know
some women that have experienced that (a break, but certainly not a
cure). But, if nothing else is working for you, I have a hard time
believing that pregnancy is going to be the magical solution.
As Elisa said, there is no cure. I half wanted to grab my doc by the
ear for saying that to me. I just feel that it is incredibly
unprofessional to tell someone that having a baby will cure their
INCURABLE disease.
I apologize for my rant!! I truely wish you and your husband the best.
Hopefully at the very LEAST you will get a nice 9 month break from
dealing with this stuff. Good luck!
