Kimber, You may have polycystic ovarian syndrom (PCOS). I was diagnosed several years ago before I was diagnosed with endo. I rarely had a period, would sometimes go a year without one. It was hard to get anyone to listen as I suspected that might be my problem. My mother had PCOS as well. Essentially it causes your eggs not to be released at ovulation. So, they will strt to "bud" off the ovary and never get further than that, causing a bunch of small cysts on the ovaries. You can be diagnosed through a transvaginal ultra sound and/or blood tests looking for specific hormone levels. Check out the link JoCee posted. You can also do a search on WebMD. They have surprisingly good info on it. ObGyn.net also has alot of info. PCOS can cause problems with conception. You may have to have some meds to help you ovulate. Interestingly, it often clears up after a pregnancy. As I said, my mom had it and had three children. So, its just something that will have to be dealt with when you want to start trying to have children. That said...I wouldn't rule out endo as well. I was really shocked to find that I have endo when I hardly ever had a period. I still haven't quite wrapped my mind around how that works. It took me seeing four different docs about the PCOS and having them tell me "that is just how some girls cycles are". I didn't fit the body type for PCOS and so they just disregarded it as a possibility. When I finally found a good doc she was shocked that anyone would ever tell me that it was normal to have a cycle like that. So, be persistant with your doctor and insist on ultra sounds and blood work. If you need a doctor, ask friends or check out this link: http://www.geocities.com/endovictims/endodocs.html Good luck, and feel free to e-mail me if you need to. Alyson
