Re: continous birth control pills

Hello.

I have taken continuous birth control pills to treat Endo since 1998 on and off with no side effects. There are quite a few studies that have been conducted regarding this matter. Most recently with products like Seasonale and now Seasonique more women than ever are suppressing their periods. This is safe and actually very helpful for Endo sufferers. However, once you actually have a period, it's awful and personally once I saw spotting as I approached month 3, that's where I took myself off and let myself have a period. It worked really well rather than pushing thru the pack and spotting. Seasonale made my pain worse. I really liked Mircette however it is not good to use for Endo since the dosage amounts vary throughout the pack. You should consider talking to your OB/GYN about a single-dose birth control pill that you could take throughout the month. That will work much better. Specifically - high dose birth control works best.

Good luck.
