Re: Pain killers

The new FDA regulations require that all pain narcotics be tracked, primarily because of doctor hoppers. My Dad takes pain killers fora back injury. Wal-Greens refused to fill his meds because the bottle said mild to severe pain, which would only warrant a three month supply. He has been on them since an injury in 2002. His doctor had to revamp the labeling to SEVERE PAIN to justify doling out an extended prescription, instead of Daddy having to call every month the way you are having to do. As it is, Wal-Greens still calls to verify each month, but Daddy does not have to deal with as much aggravation. Your doctor has to justify keeping you on an addictive drug, that why the labeling change. Mine put one pill every four hours, but verbally told me to take two. That way a one month supply, when doubled up, took care of the two weeks of pain, but it did not throw up red flags at the pharmacy anymore. Isn't it sad that our physicians who know us and our medical history are being questioned in such a manner by the little pharmacy peons? At Fri, 30 Jun 2006, Anonymous wrote: >
