Re: Possible Adenomyosis/Severe Pelvic Pain

Hi Sherry.
First of all, honey I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with
everything going on inside your body. I know exactly what you are
dealing with, and believe me, I know your fears as well. I want to say
that Adenomyosis is like Endo in that it does not go away, or so I am
told. I have a friend that has Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. She used
to have cysts, but she had a complete Hysterectomy 19 years ago. She
told me that Adenomyosis, like Endometriosis, doesn't go away. She
still has problems with both. I took her to ER 6 months ago because her
vaginal walls had literally fallen out of her vagina and the ER doctor
stitched them back in place. This was supposed to be done via the OR,
but they couldn't get her up there in time out of fear that she would
hemmorage or bleed to death. He said she was having a sudden attack of
Endo and Adeno. Neither of the two, according to him, are resolved with
a hysterectomy, and both are very painful. Another thing, almost ALL
OB/Gyn's dealing with women who have Endo or Adeno want their patients
to see a Gastroenterologist to be examined for Gastro problems of IBS,
Chron's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or Diverticulitis. I wish I knew
the answer to why that is, but it's a common thing that OB/Gyn's seem to
do. Almost all women on this forum have been told that their Endo pain
or symptoms are not just "all Endo" but more or less related to the
bowels and digestive system. And almost all women have went through
colonoscopies, endoscopies, and CT's to be told they are clean and clear
of any bowel problems. That's not to say you might be one of the few
that may have an IBD problem. Definitely go to a GI so you can rule
that out; but it seems to be standard procedure of OB/Gyn's to want to
go that route.
