Anna,
I am glad you have some answers as to what is happening to you. The
only thing I would suggest is to discuss with your doctor how he plans
to remove the endo. You mentioned "burning it off"...there has been
much discussion here as well as among specialists about how effective
that method of removal is. It often just removes the surface of the
implant leaving the part that has invaded your tissues behind. When
that happens it usually does not take long before the endo can start to
grow back in the same places. Many people feel that the most effective
surgical method is excision. It involves cutting the implant out with
either a laser or scalpel. Not all gynecological surgeons are
experienced with excision surgery. It usually requires finding a doctor
that specializes in endo and that type of surgery. Ask your doctor if
he is experienced with excision surgery. If not you may want to
consider asking him to refer you to a specialist who is, or if he would
bring one in to assist with your surgery (especially since it sounds
like it may be a complicated one). It is just something to think about
to be sure you get the most effective treatment possible.
Here is a link to a web site that provides patient recommended doctor
info. The main list is for the states, but I know there are links for
international sources. You may also want to ask if the ladies here on
the forum know of anyone.
