Re: Yasmin and SpottingFrom: kyla (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 30 01:29:53 2006
Hi Alexis, When starting a new bcp you will sometimes experience spotting due to your body getting use to and regulating the new hormones that have been introduced to it. It can take a bit for your body to balance itself out. If it continues see your gp. I spotted for the first couple of months when I was on ortho tricyclen it did eventually balance out. Haven't had any experience with yasmin though. "As with other Pills, for the first few months, you can have irregular vaginal bleeding (spotting or breakthrough bleeding) with YASMIN between your periods. You may need to use sanitary protection, but continue to take your tablets as normal. Irregular vaginal bleeding usually stops once your body has adjusted to YASMIN (usually after about 3 tablet-taking cycles). If it continues, becomes heavy or starts again, tell your doctor." I got this from http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/consumers/cmi/y/yasmin.htm Hope this helps. Kyla
