I'm currently on the add back, have been for 7 months now (I'm on a 12 month lupron schedule) and they do help. Not dramatically, but it lessens the hot flashes and the mood swings, and it's sort of like an anchor... when I take it I feel like I'll have a better day then when I don't take it. As of right now, I've never noticed any side effects from the pills.
