Hi Kyla,
I had a Mirena fitted on Monday during my 2nd Laser surgery. I have
been told that you have to be patient with it as it may take 6 months
for the body to adjust. After a heavy couple of periods It should lead
to me having non existent periods therefore hopefully no more endo.
Heavy beelding is the side effect of only some women. Every women will
have different stories to tell about having a mirena. It is down to the
individual. My decision to have it fitted was purely because I have to
try what is on offer. I have had severe endo for years and 6 months
isn't long to give to try it out when I have been waiting years to treat
the endo. The thing about not having it fitted if you haven't had
children I do believe is a myth. My mum infact fell pregnant with me
when she had a mirena fitted!! So it doesn't effect your fertility. With
such a condition you unfortunately have to go with the trial and error
method and work out what suits you. Because the mirena is new for me I
can't give too much advice. I did experience excruciating pain last
night but this I believe was due in part to period pains right after my
lap.
Don't rush into anything and what you are doing by asking for advice is
the best thing. If i have anything to report with the mirena I will
post on here and maybe it will help you or someone else.
Take care x
