Re: continuous birth control questionFrom: Elisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 23 09:48:34 2006
Good Morning Christina: After being on Synarel (Lupron like medicine) for a year to calm down the endo I had inside (as it was everywhere you can think of-maybe some I didn't :) Then my Dr's. performed a laparotomy to cut out all they could. After this time I had to use consecutive BC methods until we wanted to conceive. When we did try it was with failing as my body just rejected the pregnancies. Finally, I could tell the difference with the cycles trying to conceive and at age 34 I had a hysterctomy. The peace in there is much better than repeating the vicious cycle and creating more growth. I liked this method because it was the lesser of all options to cease cycles. My sister has endo and she wasn't able to tolerate this method well because of blood clotting in our family history. She ended up with a clot in the lung (she is fine) but everyone is different. She is 10 years younger than me and had to get the hysterectomy to cease hers. If it works for you I think it's a nice option vs. nothing. Hope it works well for you! Elisa
