continuous birth control question

Hey everyone. I am new to this forum and I have a question. I have been speaking with my dr and for about 9 months, I have gone and not had a period by skipping the placebo week. It has been working great, no break through bleeding and no periods, yay! That means no cramps and no endo symptoms for me and I really like it.

I do, however, have a question. Is it ok to go for years and not get a period or do continuous birth control? I know that pills like Seasonale allow you to get it 3-4 times a year but is it necessary?

Im trying to get info on this so if you have any info, please share. :D
