Re: amitriptyline vs. natural pain remediesFrom: Christy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 9 08:23:20 2006
Kim, I am not educated on the pain medicine amitriptyline, but I do have a success story with a natural approach. You are definately taking the first important step of eliminating wheat from your diet. And I am sure that you will love progesterone cream- it has worked wonders for my pain. When ordering this cream, read the ingredients carefully, making sure that there are no parabens. Any cosmetics or toiletries with parabens can really upset hormone stability. You can research this and other environmental things that upset endo by going to http://www.endo101.com One thing that I would really suggest is a probiotic. The one that I use is called "primal defense" by Garden of Life. When I began researching my illness from a nutritional standpoint, I discovered that most health issues begin in the digestive system. I have gone from 12-14 days of untollerable pain a month (for the last eight years), to 1-2 days of tollerable pain. But I have completely changed my diet I also supplement with probiotics, living vitamins, and use fiber and green food drinks. There is also a website that supports the natural approach to endo : http://www.theendoclub.com Hope you have success!
