Re: Bad Day!From: Allie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jun 7 10:13:18 2006
Hi, Kinya. I feel you! CBC can be frustrating, especially if when it comes time for a period, you're in a lot of pain or bleeding heavily. Have you actually started a period yet, or are you just cramping? If I know I had an event coming up, when I was on CBC, I would just keep taking active pills, and push my period off a little bit. Probably not the best thing, but if you can't do important things because of the pain or the bleeding, I think you're entitled to a couple day's reprieve! Someone else on this forum posted an idea that I've taken to heart, and it makes the whole thing MUCH better. She suggested setting up a bit of a retreat for yourself, so that when you do start bleeding, you can cope with it. I've altered her idea a little bit, but here's what I have done...I made a big box of all the things I need when I feel crappy: my heating pad, a bottle of vicoden, my favorite books and movies, a chocolate bar, my favorite scented candle (and a lighter!), a needlework project, notes from people who love me that are full of encouragement, and some of my favorite ginger ale. While it doesn't help the frustration of dealing with the pain and life-setbacks the endo causes, it's nice to have the "emergency kit" ready for after work on the days when you come home and want to collapse into bed. Good luck with the wedding this weekend. I'll be thinking of you!
