Emily, A hysterectomy at your age is a major decision (as I'm sure you know) It would be a good idea to really research what the long term effects of a hysterectomy are before deciding to go that route. Also, you had the laproscopy but are you on any medications following the proceedure? I have had surgery as well and did not experience much pain relief following....but there is the possibility that trying things such as a modified diet, naturopathic remedies, acupuncture, and hormone treatments (or a combination of those) can bring you some kind of control over the disease. I'm managing mine right now with danazol (a testosterone derivative) and supplements. I am by no means pain free, but I do feel significantly better than I did two months ago. Also, go back through some posts here. There are alot of topics dealing with hysterectomy. It is a really mixed bag. Some women have had great success with it and still others have not had good experiences at all. It is obviously a very personal decision that requires alot of thought. Here is a web site I like to give out. It was posted some time ago by another forum member. There is alot of information regarding some of the possible hormone treatments, etc.
