I think it is very accurate on explaining terminology of endo, possible treatment options, etc. I believe it also shows a diagram (and explanation) of the endo stages. I don't know if you could necessarily see stage IV endo on an ultra sound. Keep in mind that the amount of endo you have does not necessarily correlate to the amount of endo you have. You could have a very small amount and be in extreme pain or vice versa.

As for the pain relief...I personally have not had alot of luck with that. Everyone is different though. It is important to get a diagnosis if nothing else. And it is my personal belief that removing the endometriosis is beneficial even if you don't end up experiencing significant pain relief. The best thing you can hope for is to remove the endo and work with your doctor to find something that works for you to manage the endo (i.e. suppress the growth) following surgery.
