Dearest Teresa'
So good to have you back, safe and sound! I am happy to hear it went well.
Don't worry too much of the biopsy results, it likely is old endo or something
like that, we can have the strangest looking things that turn out to be nothing.
The symptoms you wrote of having last year, were likely just endo related stuff.
Every laparotomy I have had, (4), has found something , but turned out to be a
harmless matter. Focus on your healing and getting well, you need you strength for that.
I too had my ovary removed during one, well most of it, they couldn't get a piece due
to the adhesions around it. Don't be too concerned if you get some sharp ,
stabbing or pulling pains around that area, it is just healing and things settling
back into place.
Good to hear your hubby is a dear and helping you so much! There are a lot of
good guys out there who will lend a hand when needed, nice to know you have one
of them! Relax and let him luv ya better!
As for your bm, it is getting to be awhile now, 6 days, so make SURE you are drinking PLENTY of water!!
Sometimes it helps to drink lots of warm water (gross I know), but it encourages you r bowel to come
back to life as well as gives you the fluids you desperately need. Many things we think are hydrating us
actually are not. SO make extra sure you are getting very hydrating drinks in you.
Laparotomys and getting right in there, seem to temporarily stun the bowel, so
it takes some time for it to get back to work, but there can also be other reasons.
I wouldn't go too much longer with out mentioning it to your Dr, he may want to see
you or put you on a special laxative, as if you get too full and constipated,
it is going to be awful trying to get it all out, especially being so sore and
a gut full of stitches. So don't let it go on too much longer before you mention
it. Another good drink for hydrating is the Pedialyte(sp) drink, I don't know if it
is also made in an adult drink, my surgeon told me to drink it and I bought what
the kids drink, even the meds we are taking for pain can really dehydrate us
a lot. I also take Vitamin C and E after my surgeries to boost the healing and my immune system,
Be careful yet what you eat as you don't want to build up too much bulk in your
bowel till you start going again.
All the best and continued healing, my healing thought and prayers are with you!
All the best, Loretta
