New to hereFrom: Aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 30 08:10:18 2006
Hi guys, Im new here and I'm glad Ive found it! I last year underwent a laporotomy to remove what they thought was a cyst. Once cut open there wasnt anything there! After I recovered I underwent investigation in my bowel and colon only to eventually have a laporoscopy 6 months later and endometriosis was discovered. I had it in 4 places and my bowel and ovaries were fused together as was my bladder and uterus. I have waited for over the 6 month period and it appers to have not been fully treated or re-occured so I'm facing the surgery again in a couple of weeks. Even though I know what it involves, for me it was a painful recovery and I'm very anxious. The more I read the more afraid I get of the prospect of having this condition. 2 Surgeons who have examined my ovaries say that they all look healthy but I worry that fertility could be a problem. I'm not ready to have a baby so I'm not going to rush for it. But it will be tough as I'm already a carrier of a debilitating muscular illness and face the prospect of giving birth to a child with this awful condition. So having the added endo problem fills me with dread. I guess what i would like to know is how you guys deal with that and whether you have any words of support about the likely hood of infertility. Thank you for reading and I hope we all have the support we truly deserve when dealing with endometriosis. x
