Endo help!!From: Lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 30 08:01:37 2006
Hello everyone, I'm new to this and i'm pretty freaked out right now. Not sure where to turn, so I think why not talk with people who will know 1st hand what i'm going through. I'm 22 years old, had a leap and cone procedure done last sumemr for pre-cancerous cells in my cervix. That has so far been good. Haven't had those same issues since the surgery and I'm seeing my doctor every three months to catch anything if it does come up again. Now, I have a new problem to deal with. Since last year i'd say, i have had these nasty pains in my stomach, reproductive area all on my left side and let me tell you these pains, are enough to make me stop moving and almost fall down. Horrible pains that nothing has been able to take away. I recently went to my doctor again last thursday and talked to him about my pains and with my history, its to dangerous to ignore it hoping it will go away or stop on it's own. I have a ultra sound on Friday to see if I have another cyst, had a large one when i was 20. If not, with the meds I'm on still not working, he wants to do a laparoscopy. Endo runs in my family and seems like i'm the one who gets all the internal problems. I'm so afraid that with all this work being done to my body in that general area, that it will make it ten times harder to get pregnant and i'm still young!!! I would really like to get some feedback from those who have gone through this surgery and how it affects you afterward. Also I would like to know how long the recovery period is after this surgery. When I had the leap/cone done last summer I was out of work for a week....which is longer than most people but i was just having a really hard time walking normally and just getting back to normal. Any advice you could give me, I would greatly appreciate!!!
