A little good news for a change

I am 21 now, but was diagnosed with Stage IV Endo when I was 17. It has been a long struggle over the past few years, but about 6 months ago I had my ovary removed and I have been PAIN FREE ever since. I am still on Lupron for at least another year, but I've never felt this good before. I never thought this day would come.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this site. You've seen me on my lowest days when I thought I would never see an end and when I was switching meds yet again and was feeling sick and I wanted to remind everyone that it does happen. There is a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how faint it may seem at times.

It really is strange though, when looking back at your 21st birthday you always think of being able to legally drink, but for me it is the time that my pain went away. After 13 surgeries and countless shots, I am done. I don't know that I can bring myself to truely believe it yet, but I have never been completely pain free even after a surgery and even that never reached the six month time frame, so now I am forced to believe that I really am done with all the surgeries. My doctor is excited. I was so advanced when they found it they right away assumed the worst outcome. Now even though I may have trouble having kids down the road that is something that I just can't think about. I am able to have a life now for the first time in three years and I'm going to enjoy it!
