Cramps after HysterectomyFrom: Debbie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Apr 30 11:51:42 2006
I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 27 (I am now 40) and I opted for the hysterectomy since I didn't want any children (at least with husband #1) and at 28, I had a partial, leaving only 1 ovarie left. Soon after that, I began having PMS symptoms: sore breasts, water weight gain, lower back cramps and period cramping. It worried me and my dr. told me my body was still giving me hormones and it was natural. I just started taking PMS pills and felt fine. Well it's now 12 years later and I've noticed my stomach sometimes feels very hard and weighted and it bugs the crap out of me. I had a pap smear in July 2005 and it came back fine. I still get the PMS feelings, but now I'm wondering if I'm carrying around a large cyst in my stomach where my uterus used to be. Does anyone else have this same problem? And if you did, what did you do about it? My new insurance doesn't become active until June 11 and I was thinking about making an appointment with the same dr who gave me my pap smear and tell him about my concerns. Any help would be great. Plus, I have zero interest in sex and my now husband thinks I'm not attracted to him and he doesn't understand it's me.
