Hi Nicki,

I didn't know that I had endo until I had a pretty large endometrioma inside of my right ovary. I had some symptoms, but they weren't so bad that I felt the need to go to the dr. When I had surgery to remove it, they confirmed that I had endo throughout my pelvic area. I think the worst for me though, is the cyst because it just grows and gets more painful. My first surgeon didn't remove the whole cyst wall, so it came back bigger within 1 year and I had to have another surgery. The doctor removed the whole thing, but,I feel like it's back after only a few months. I'm contemplating complete removal of the ovary because no matter what I do ( exercise, eat right, etc..) it keeps coming back. Anyway, sorry for the longwinded story. My point is, if you have it removed, make sure your doc knows how to remove the whole thing ( including the whole cyst wall). And, I do believe that if you have an endometrioma, you will also have endo ( hopefully, you will be lucky and not have that). I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers :)
