Diarrhea after surgery

Hi ladies, hope all is well with you. I had my third lap on Monday this week. They found a lot of endo on my ureters, bowels, and both side walls of my abdomen. They took out my appendix, too. They said that my uterus, ovaries, and tubes were clear of endo and open, so pregnancy is still an option for later, thank god! Except for the TERRIBLE gas pains the day after surgery (pretty much gone now), everything's been going well. The incisions only have minor pain, mostly relieved by taking aleve and putting ice on my abdomen and heat on my lower back. I was put on vicodin, but I get so sleepy and shaky when I take that, I stopped taking it last night. I didn't get much nausea at all, so all in all I'm doing pretty well for a 2 1/2 hour surgery. I do have one question for you guys though. I have had very bad diarrhea that started this morning that will not let up. I have taken 3 immodium and 2 doses of pepto bismol, nothing seems to be working. I can feel everything bubbling in my stomach and lower back and I'm bloated to the point I look 7-8 months pregnant, and I'm usually thin. I called my doctor and they said that the bloating is from swelling and water retention and it could take a few days to a couple weeks for it to go away and there's nothing I can do except walk around and keep drinking a lot of fluids to keep hydrated. I am keeping myself hydrated, so I'm not too worried. But is there anything you guys know of to help relieve the diarrhea and cramping from it besides the immodium and pepto? Any advice would be great! Thank you, Alyssa
