hemorraghic (sp) cystFrom: amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Apr 26 20:41:17 2006
Hi, I just have a few questions regarding my visits to my doctor. I just found out that I am 6w6d pregnant. I started having right sided pain shortly after having my first hcg level checked. It was 542.4, making ke 3-4 weeks at that time. I had also started spotting lightly, so the next day I called and made an appt. for that afternoon. All they did was an ultrasound that day, and found an empty gestational sac and a cyst in my right ovary or tube. They were not sure which. Told me that everything was fine and sent me home with instructions to go straight to the er if i got into severe pain. I checked my hcg level yesterday and it had shot to 33,000 in 15 days. The ultrasound revealed today a viable baby measuring right on schedule with a great yoke sac. My problem is that the PA would not actually share any info, I had to ask. She said that I had blood in my uterus, and then when they left the room for me to get dressed, I read on the u/s machine that I had a hemorraghic cyst. When the tech came back in, I asked her what that meant. She said my pain was coming from that and that it was actually bleeding into my tube and possibly me uterus. The PA never disclosed that info to me herself. I asked what we needed to do about it, she said well, we'll have to just wait and see. They did not even tell me the size of the cyst. Im thinking of getting a second opinion and was wondering if anyone could share any info regarding any of this. Do you think its some thing I should have looked at more carefully. My pain had gotten worse the last few days and I seem to get nausea shortly after. Any info would be greatly appreciated, and I promise to not write a book next time like this one!! amanda
