Leann,

I to have back pain and it is actually what led me to be diagnosed with endo and probable adenomyosis. I do have a history of degenerative disc disease, a herniated disc, and a bulging one BUT this pain is different. >From the ando and adeno I have daily achy pain in the extreme lower part
of my back just above my tail bone with pain that radiates into my hips and occasional sciatica. I have had this back pain for years with my peroid but after I had my daughter it progressively got worse and worse and now for the past year it has been constant. My doctor and I both feel it is from the adenomyosis and because my uterus is retroverted I feel the pain more in my back than in my pelvic area, although I am now feeling there too. I am now scheduled for a hysterectomy next week because I cannot take the daily pain anymore. It is messing with my immune system and causing me to have Chronic Fatigue like symtoms. Alot of woman I have talked to with adenomyosis have this same back pain. The only problem is the only way to get a definative diagnosis is to have a hystectomy and have a pathologist look at it. We are 95% sure that I have it because my uterus is very enlarged and boggy and I have extremely heavy clotty painful peroids and my back pain. I have heard they can sometimes diagnose with an MRI or and intravaginal ultrasound but these are not reliable.

Hope that gives you some info to go on.
