You can't convince a doctor of anything, especially if they believe in a
drug so completely. The best thing for your friend to do is to find a
new doctor. And, just because the doctor says your friend needs lupron,
doesn't mean your friend needs to take it. A doctor cannot force
someone to take a drug.
