Back Pain?From: Leann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Mar 30 15:22:36 2006
Hello all, I'm 22 years old, and just recently have I heard from more than one of my doctors that I may have endometriosis. I have scheduled an appointment with an excellent OBGYN in April that took care of my mother when she had large fibroids and had to have a hysterectomy. She is well known around here. Well, most of the pain is in my back, and it has been hurting for 2 months straight, and began with one of my periods. The pain also spread to my abdomen during my cycle. The pain was excruciating during the periods, with only slight relief between. I had to go to the ER each time and have shots of demerol to get the pain under control. I had an MRI done on the lumbar spine, and it showed a bulging disc which the neurologist said was not uncommon, as the first disc tends to wear out around age 25. At first I was thinking i hurt my back during exercise, but when it didn't improve in 6 weeks, and doctors have been telling me to get checked for endo... well, here I am. I was just wondering if anyone here has had predominately back pain with endo? I have always had mild back pain with my periods, but not like this. My emotions seem to have been out of whack too - picking fights with anyone who will rise to the occasion. Anyway, thanks for reading.
