The Nerve It TakesFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Mar 27 21:28:29 2006
Okay, here's the story. I signed up to be a support group leader through the ERC. I am in the progress of putting together an awareness concert which all proceeds were to go to the ERC. I have 4 local bands that have agreed to play at the concert and have also secured autographed donations from country music artists and also notable sports personalities. The items received are to be auctioned off at the concert as a way to raise money. One of the teams that I contacted need a request on letterhead and also a tax exempt number so I emailed the ERC stating what I needed. I got a return email telling me only the fundraising director can use the ERC letterhead but she would be more than happy to send the request in from them. Also in the same email I was told that all donated items to be auctioned must be available to all ERC members to bid on. The items I have put a lot of time and work into securing for the concert I am organizing!! I have no problem with anyone bidding on the items but they have to come to MD to do so. I'm sorry but that's my big pull to get the crowd. I already have media coverage lined up and also a stadium has agreed to donate their facilities for the event. I'm sorry if I sound harsh or anything but this is "My Baby" and they aren't going to take it away from me after I've used my contacts and my favors to have this thing happen. So tomorrow I make the much anticipated phone call to ERC headquarters. I am not going to mess around with some minimum wage, pencil pushing geek. They will either play ball my way or I either go somewhere else or I pull the plug on the entire thing. I'll update tomorrow after I hear what they have to say. Thanks for listening to me rant. Hugs to all tonight.
