Hi, I'm a newbie here and just stumbled onto this forum today. I have had cramping and extremely painful periods on and off for several years. I am a 33 y/o mom of two boys.

About a week ago, I was supposed to start my menstrual cycle, and nothing happenend. It was a bit unnerving because I am never late. I usually cycle every 23-25 days. Anyway, not to be too graphic, but I had intercourse about 5 days ago and started bleeding during and noticed it afterwards. I thought I had started my cycle because I was expecting it at that time. Then the bleeding just stopped. I didn't have any bleeding whatsoever for several days. Then yesterday(almost a week later), my cycle showed up, but with excruciating cramps and pain. It got worse and last night I could hardly sleep. I could not get comfortable in any position. My back was extremely tight and knotted up. I had such horrible cramps, it felt as if I was being butchered. I could hardly stand up and walk to go to the bathroom. I even had to have my husband leave work this morning to come home and help me with my son because the pain was too incapacitating. I also felt alot of pressure very low in my pelvic area right above my pubic bone and around my bowel area. I can truly sympathize with the person that started the thread called "Various pains". While going to the bathroom, it felt as if my insides were being ripped out. I would have to say that the pain I have had the past couple of days is worse than any labor pains I had to endure.

Anyway, to make a long story short, does this sound like endo? I have an appointment with an OBGYN on the 23rd and I will bring this up. I am seriously considering a hysterectomy because we are done having children(husband had a vasectomy) and I am sick and tired of dealing with this pain. Anyone have a hysterectomy to relieve the endo, and if so, how did it go? Is your pain gone completely now?

thanks.

Amy R.
