Help!!! Should i have the lap???From: Rees (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Feb 28 09:12:42 2006
Ok, can someone help me please? I am 16 and have always had horrible menstrual cramps. it feels like im being stabbed with a knife and they are usually the worst when im lying down. The only thing i can do is wait till it goes away and lie completely still and not breath. It hurts so much! I normally start getting cramps a week or sometimes two before i get my period and i also have them when im on it as well. Also, i get pain in my lower back that just aches. In october i went to the gyno because i had an irregular period (it lasted 3 months! blah!) She prescribed me ortho-evra tricyclen lo. It hasnt helped me with my cramps at all. Also she prescribed prescription ibuprofen and it doesnt help at all either. Lately my stomach is just in a constant state of pain. I went to the gyno last week and suggested maybe having endo and she pretty much ignored me, she didnt even make a diagnosis! This doctor was horrible! When she gave the pelvic exam she was pretty rough with me and i later found tried blood in my vagina. My older sister and my grandmother have both had endo and ovarian cysts and i know that it makes me 6 times more likely to get it. My doc said that if i wanted to look into it further that i could have the laparoscopy done. I have read a lot about it and i think thats what i should do. I told my mom and she said i was making a bad decision and should look for alternatives and that i was being rational? What do you think????? Please help!!! Should i have the lap???
