Hi all,
Thanks once again for all your helpful comments :-)Tara fom L I'm in
Ireland!I wish we COULD clone your Dr!!!
My Gyno has just phoned me back (24hrs later)he has basically gone from
telling me on 02/02/2006 that I couldn't possibly have another cyst or
endometriosis to (after I called the Hos and asked them to fax the
results of the scan I organsied 24/02/06 through my GP,which showed lo
and behold a 5.5cm CYST!!)to him now telling me on the phone that we
need to remove the ovary asap!!!!
I think this is drastic and I am very reluctant to do this.He tells me
that I must have endometriosis INSIDE the ovary. Is this possible?
He skirted around the fact that 1)Did he miss this cyst in my Lap in Dec
and 2)If it did grow back why did he tell me on 02/02/06 that I had 'No
gynecological
Probs' and I 'couldn't possibly have another cyst'.
He is supposed to be the top Gyno/ob in the country (But I don't know
about his experinces with actual Endo)He did say that if I wanted a
second opinion he had no problem with that. All that could take weeks and
weeks, meantime I sit here in terrible pain.I'd say that cyst is
growing.
What do I do?????I'm reluctant to see another Dr,I don't know why
really, more the thoughts of going through everything again and again
and possibly not being listened to again and again.I simply don't have
the energy or the will to go through it all.
I am determined NOT to have an ovary removed. Why???I don't know two
reasons I suppose, physicologically I couldn't BEAR the thought of them
removing part of me, it just TOTALLY Freaks me out, I'm having serious
problems mentally with it.I may be single 37yrs old but I want Kids one
day.My gyno told me that right now that I have a 'perfectly good right
ovary'.HOWEVER I didn't say but I am also experiencing stabbing pain in
my right ovary.I have a feeling soon enough there will be endo
discovered in that too and that it is in fact NOT a 'perfectly good
right ovary'.
I have gone from having no probs in early Novemeber to suddenly all
this, some say it takes 9 years to be diagnosed with Endo.It took me 3
weeks, and now suddenly it's all too much for me to take in.

Ps Someone (sorry I can't remember your name)gave me two VERY useful
links on Ovarian Cysts, I learnt alot from them Thank you)I'll try
googling but if anyone has a few handy links on endo INSIDE the ovary
and what it means etc, that would be extremly helpful :-)
