It may be any allergy or a simple side effect, but they need to ask you questions to distinguish the two. Do you have any red marks, or "bug bite" looking marks on your body that you can't explain? These can be known as hives or marks of an allergy to the drug. Do you have any rashes? It may be just simple itching. I have itching with some pain relievers too and it may be just a side effect.
