when I had that aweful gas the nurse in the hospital gave my a supossitory ( sp?) she said once you get your system moving along it helps which it did for me. Put a call into your docs office and ask the nurse if it's ok to try. It did help me b/c I swore the first time I had that gas I swore I was gonna die just that panic of how sharp it felt. also if sleep is a big problem which isn't a good thing for a healing factor b/c your body is working overtime in the healing process ask them if you can take some OTC sleep aid to help you get some rest. Sometimes just sleeping through the pain means you feel it alot less.. I hated to lay down but told my husband once these meds knock me out tip me over into a laying postion so I wasn't aware..I also used a back massager that vibrated which helped..

As for the excess of going to the bathroom that happens when they toss a few IV Bags into your system. Back in October my 4 day hospital stay with food and liquid restriction and only an Iv I went I haven't went Pee this much in my life and weird was not drinking anything at all. LOL.. I always thought I'd breeze through that Lap if it wasn't for that darn gas pain b/c it does top any incisional pain I ever had.

My first experience with it was when they removed my gallbladder. It also comes with c-sections,and tubal ligation surgery. I also asked my doc if I could take gas X prior to combat it at the get go so if there is another time ask your doc that too.. Hope you pass the gas soon. hugs sudsey
