Re: Trying to get pregnant....From: April (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jan 31 18:54:26 2006
Hi Jaimie, The one good thing I always try to remember is I know a lot of people w/ endo and some who have and havne't had problems w/ getting pregnant but ultimately all of them got pregnant. It's scary when it's doesnt happen right away & when you got all the other problems like cysts and adhesions resulting from endo & making it more difficult but it's likely that all of us will get pregnant if it's only endo we're dealing with. My sister went in for a diagnostic lap after trying to get pregnant for 2 and half years. the dr. had no idea she had endo becuz she did not have one symptom (unlike me!) When he went in, he did not have the laser ready so she didn't get lasered during her lap. He said she had somewhere between stage one & two but what was affecting her was implants he found on her cervix. So instead of operating on her again, he decided to put her on Lupron. She was on it for a total of 6 months. She didnt even get her period. She got pregnant less than a month after being taken off the lupron. The dr called her a medical miricle.. Finding out she was pregnant was the happiest day becuz none of us expected it. we thought we'd have to wait a few more months for her to just get her period... After Brady ( my first nephew), she got pregnant right away w/ Benjamin. She always jokes that it took her 3 years to get pregnant w/ Brady but 3 minutes w/ Benjamin.. (my poor brother-in-law).. Sammy is my 3rd nephew and he it did end up taking her 9 months of trying to conceive with him.. I completely understand how you feel about ivf. my insurance coverage is in delaware where it is not manditory to cover reproductive procedures.. 10k per round is pretty darn expensive & without a guarantee! ultimately, it's worth it but it just makes me soo mad when i think of all the people who don't have to pay so much money.. I mean we're trying to save so we can give our baby a good start financially.. So i'm with ya on that one... Is your dr. sure there is no possibility of conceiving naturally? How are your tubes & ovaries? I know you mentioned the cyst by if it was drained & lasered it shouldnt be a factor, right?
