Hopefully this info helps...

Your doctor will only (should only) put you on Lupron for 6 months. It will not affect your bone mass in this time period. I take calcium...and any loss bone mass will be regained when I am done the drug.

Yes, there are side affects that mimic mennopause. However, these side effects mean that the drug is working. Lupron takes away your estrogen...therefore you experience hot flashes, night sweats, moodiness, sometimes headaches. However, they are tolerable (at least for me) and now I am not in pain. It's a trade off and many women forget that the side effects mean that he drug is working.

People are quick to complain about the drug without considering the good it is doing for their condition. Please talk to your OB/GYN openly about Lupron. It isn't as bad as many women make it out to be. The first step is understanding.

Please see this website for more info...

I hope this helps.
