Re: Acupunture for endo pain

I have seen an Acupuncturist and herbal doctor for almost a year now. It has really helped me out. I don't know how long I will need to go to the doctor and have the treatments, but it is the only thing that gave me my life back. I used to lay in bed for days in pain. I went through lupron for 13 months and then 3 months after I got off of the lupron I was rushed to the hospital bc I fell at work. Earlier that week I had been to the doctor complaining that I was hurting, kinda like cramping except that I wasn't having a cycle. I wasn't supposed to have a cycle since I got off the lupron. I was just taking the birth control all the time so that I couldn't have a cycle. The doctor said that I had a bladder infection and gave me some meds and let me go. I finished out the meds by sat. and I was still in pain. I called the drs office and they said that my results weren't back yet, but that the only thing possibly for me to have is a bladder infection. Later that night was when I fell at work. I fell to the floor grabbing my stomach. I thought that something busted in my stomach. I hadn't been in that much pain since before my first lap. I was taken to the hospital where they did all kinds of tests and told me that I didn't have a bladder infection and I didn't have a UTI so the only possible thing that it could be was that the endo was back. I asked how could that be because I had just gotten off the Lupron. The doc. told me that he didn't know and told me to check with my doctor. He gave me a doc to go to on Monday and I went there and they did all kinds of exams and testing again and he said that the only thing for him to do is to open me up to see what is going on. I wasn't happy with that and I really wasn't happy with the doctor either, he was rude and rough and didn't seem to care about me one bit. Just wanted my money. So I searched around for a new doctor. I had to do this bc my reg. obgyn was in texas and I just moved to cali for school. So I found a new doctor, but I couldn't get in to see her for a while. So my boyfriends mom hated to see me in all the pain so she took me to her acupuncturist. Since I have been seeing this doctor I am only in pain during my cycle and it really only lasts the first day. But I can control the pain with the herbs that she gives me. I'm not saying that this will work for everyone. I am 23 and I want to have children on my terms. My obgyn also believes in the acupuncture and the endo diet. I never thought that I would have to have another lap. so soon after the first on but I did. I am still recovering from it bc instead of just a lap they did a more in depth surgery where they opened me up about 2 inches to get the chocolate cyst out. She told me from the ultra sound b4 the surgery that it was the size of a plum, no worries. But after the surgery she told me that it was the size of a baseball, bigger worries. I don't know how long I will need to continue to see the acupuncturist. It works for me, but you just have to make sure that the doctor actually knows what they are doing and not quacks. Bc if they do something wrong then it could be really dangerous. The doctor I see has 3 or 4 degrees in acupuncture and herbal treatments.
