Re: adhesions after lap -- stressed

Hareem, When I had my first lap it was primarily for diagnostic purposes. The doctor removed endo, but said it was "mild". Three months ago I had a second laproscopy (about a year after the first). The only adhesions the doctor found were around a very large endo mass in the peritoneum of my hip. They were adhesions caused by my body's response to the mass. However, I will say that everyone's body heals differently.

I wish I could tell you what the right thing to do is. When I had my first surgery I didn't know anything about adhesions, etc. I just wanted to know what was wrong with me. My second surgery was an absolute necessity because I was in a great deal of pain.

The other thing to consider is that your pain does not necessarily correlate to the amount of endo you have. Just because you don't think your pain is bad doesn't mean there couldn't be alot of endo...and the opposite is true. If you are considering surgery for fertility reasons, that may be something to think about.

Good luck to you, Alyson
