Re: ANDOMYOSIS---- POSSIBLE HYSTORECTOMYFrom: Jasey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Jan 7 19:07:10 2006
I went through 2 really bad years with multiply visits to the ER and a prescription of vicodan for a year till my insurance would approve my hystorectomy. I did the birth control pills but bled through. My endrometriosis had spread through my lower abdominal cavity. I had to go through a laproscopy prior to my insurance company allowing my hystorectomy. I had a total hystorectomy in Jan. 2005. It was the best thing I ever did. The lab found andymosis throughout my uterus which was causing the bleeding and sharp pains and the endrometrosis was causing the other problems. Prior to my hystorectomy, sex was painful and many times I had tears in my eyes when I pretended it didn't hurt. It took a long sit down with my husband talking about our sex life and how much it hurt for me to come to grips that it was alright to not have intercourse but we could still have a sex life. It is now Jan.2006 and life is great! Sex is great! I am on syntest which is working well for me and I will be on some form of that probably for the rest of my life. Syntest is like premarin and helps with the hot flashes. I can tell though if I forget to take my meds for a day though because I get irratible and can not sleep well. Good luck to any one reading this and know that a hystorectomy is not a bad thing for those who need it.
