AblationFrom: Tara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Dec 31 12:42:01 2005
Has anyone had an ablation and found it to be successful? I have adenomyosis and for some reason both my first ob/gyn and now my second ob/gyn have refused to do a hysterectomy. I tried to go off the pill recently and found I couldn't without flooding tremendously. I promptly took lots of ibuprofen and went back on the pill. It seems the adeno has gotten much worse and will not be held down. Even when I am on my pill free week I flood if I don't go back on it in 3 days. My questions are mainly does the stomach shrink with an ablation? I don't really want to have an ablation and still keep my 13 week pregnancy tummy. Second, I've heard some not so impressive news about ablations and adeno and don't want an unnecessary surgery (would rather do the hyst). Anyone had success with this? Thirdly, does it cure the adeno or does the adeno continue to grow after an ablation? If it still grows than I'm wondering why my docs think this would be better. I know it has been getting worse since everyone now asks me if I am pregnant which is lots of fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks,
-- Tara
