Dear Liza,
Sorry your having such a rough time. I used to be just like you. Every
month with my period I would get a cold. Like clockwork. I was
beginning to think I had a terrible autoimmune disease. I met some
friends after my second daughter was born who had sworn off milk. I
also noticed when I nursed my baby and had eaten my morning cereal my
baby would cry for an hour. I decided to give up milk (only, still eat
cheese). It worked . I no longer had colds (didn't have one for 8
years!!), my allergies dramatically improved and my daughter wasn't
crying anymore after nursing.
Later after she weaned my daughter also got severe ear infections and
walking pneumonia every year. I took her off cow's milk and she never
got an ear infection or pneumonia again. They were just about to place
tubes in her ears. Milk is extremely mucous causing. If you need to
read more go to milksucks.com it's a funny, but scary site as well. I
actually can now drink a bit with my cereal and so can my daughter, but
when I drink too much I get a cold (sometimes bronchitis) like clockwork
as does my daughter.
Hope that helps,
Tara
