Re: Centrum instead of Prenatal Vitamins

There are brands of prenatal vitamins that can be bought over the counter. You can ask the pharmacist about them if you have questions. Most insurance won't cover the prescription versions because there are generic over the counter equivalencies.

Now here is the BIG question - if you are pregnant why are you not seeing a doctor - prenatal care is very necessary and will offset some really big costs later if you or your baby have problems. Please, you're both worth the cost and I know it's expensive but there are options for you. Check your local telephone directory for the blue pages or community services pages and check into the WIC program which gives special food and vitamin allowances to pregnant women and their children up to age 6. You may qualify for other health care services as well at least for routine prenatal care.

A well balanced healthy diet is better than any vitamin pill.

good luck!!
