Chocolate cyst

I'm brand new here. /waves!

I've been under going severe pain in my lower right side since mid August. I've lost a lot weight, and I've been in the hospital several times because of the severity of the pain. I was beginning to think I was going crazy, because there seemed to be no cause for the pain.

My family Doctor ordered yet more Ultrasounds for me on Tuesday, and they finally found something, a large chocolate cyst on my right ovary. I go to a teaching hospital(my doctor's office is located there), so I had an instructor and a resident doing the ultrasounds. They were discussing things while doing the ultrasound, and then explained to me that I had the chocolate cyst, and that my family Doctor would talk to me about it later. The ultrasounds were internal, and extremely painful.

Since the ultrasound my pain has gotten worse, and I have had a very low grade fever for the past several days. I called my Dr's office to ask her about it, but they told me to come back after the next ultrasound they were scheduling for me, which is in 6-8 weeks. They haven't even had me in to discuss this ultrasound yet.

Now I'm not sure what to do. After reading literature on the internet I'm nervous, I don't know what activities are safe for me, I don't know if I should be concerned about the fever, or if maybe I should be looking for a Doctor that will tell me what’s going on NOW. Of course the city I live in is in short supply of Doctors, and it's hard to get a new one.

Sorry for the length of the post, but does anyone have some advice for me?
