ad·nexa Pronunciation: ad-nek-s Function: noun plural : conjoined, subordinate, or associated anatomic parts <the uterine adnexa include the ovaries and fallopian tubes> - ad·nex·al /-sl/ adjective

>From looking it up this type of cyst can be associated with torsion of
the ovary and Tube. As far as Cancer is concerned I keep reading usualy a Cancerous cyst is 10 cm.. Not to say it can't be smaller but I would make a guess that most cancerous Cysts are of the bigger nature, also it can be noncancerous.. Of course it flips us all out so you aren't alone in the question is it cancerous or not..I would also think the Doctor doesn't exactly know the extend from vision screening of the mass. Scans can only tell so much information where as a lap and a look see gives a bigger picture of the cyst what it's done to the organ.. Obviously you do not want to have your ovary and tube removed which I'm not sure many want to happen but You need the cyst removed and no one could give you that for sure answer other then your doctor at the time of the lap weather it needs to stay or go.. It's obviously something out of your hands on that decision so to worry yourself isn't gonna be helpful set a posative mind set and say hey if it has to go it does but I'll be ok.. I know easier said then done but its always helpful to face any proceedure with that posative thinking set into motion. I say it myself weather I fully believe what I'm saying or not.. I hope all goes well for you and Hope this helped I don't think the other wed sites I listed helped so I thought well the medical dictionary has to have a def. and that usualy explains it. i kept thinking I can't see it as a type of cyst but more described the area involved..
