Just happened to me with a new Gyn I tried out.. He refused to help me, see me, or treat me when I said no to lupron.. Well see it this way you pay them you hire them not the other way around..It is your body you who goes through side effects not them..In my opinion if a doctor can not respect your choices he shouldn't be your doctor then. If they told you to cut off your healthy arm you'd protest they were nuts this is no different..I'd jump and even lie if I could find a gyn to do surgery to remove the endo from my c-section scar and lie saying I'd do lupron to get surgery walk out and not go back to that doctor. Just b/c they suggest it doesn't mean you have to.. Seriously have confidence in yourself to SAY NO when you feel it's not what is right for you..They are Doctors and human not GODS and thus said do not know everything either..Gut instinct follow it I find mine never to lead me in a wrong direction in fact it's kept me time and time again from the wrong roads. Pain if bad look in the Insurance book for a pain management specilaist and talk to your PCP about that option in the mean time make a hundred calls to a hundred Gyns and sit there asking questions Do you promote Lupron what if I refuse, what treatments do you suggest and why, do this over the phone it saves time and alot of money. Call and ask if the Gyn in the office can call you back or see if the Nurse/ receptionist on the other end knows the answers.. Explain your situation. I did this in trying to find a General surgeon to remove my endo and came to find that many Docs got on the phone and said they wont remove endo and it saved me from dumb visits that would have been a waste of my time.. I am now going back to my old gyn for the fact he never pushed Lurpon and in fact agreed with me that it would not be of benefit to me in raising my small children and I couldn't handle the side effects.. Again as most Lupron patients come to find out that if you have adhesions that lupron will not curb the pain adhesions cause and yes it benefits the endo but what's the point if it's not endo pain but Adhesion pain??? If having surgery Ask about Adhesion prevention methods, which the doctor uses if any, they seem to neglect mentioning this info to patients..I have begun to see denial of a patient over a stupid drug as a discrimination case myself. I honestly have given thought to a lawsuit against them over it. When our health care became the doctors choices I'm not sure but I certainly am annoyed no end over it.. As long as I am of sound mind and able body I thought the choices of treatments were mine !! My Aunt who had breast cancer and a hysterectomy told me she is not alloud any HRT b/c of it so I would strongly advise against it if there is a breast cancer concern for you as well.. Believe me my heart goes out to you here it's a rotten position to be in and left me feeling so snowballed afterward b/c I just couldn't believe they can refuse to treat you over a choice not to mess with a medication. I scream discrimination.. Isn't it bad enough Insurance seems to have the rights over our health and who we can and can not see but now Docs, come on this is nuts.. Let us know how things go.. I wish you the best and that things change for you Hugs Sudsey
