Could they force you to take lupron for endo?... please help...From: Myriam (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 30 07:41:05 2005
Yesterday I called my GYN in cry because the pain is getting so bad I cannot even bend over or walk straight anymore... In June I was put on Seasonal and after 3 weeks I had to stop it after gaining 30 pds of water. My heart was giving me weird rythms too. My GYN told me he wants to put me on Lupron. I have already osteoporosis and was told the lupron would be bad for me. On the top of that the fact that I reacted so badly to the pill, doesn't "encourage" me to believe I won't react badly to another hormone therapy. Another fact is I am supposed to take Tamoxifen for the next 5 years to reduce my breast cancer risk. The GYN said they can add the add-pack to reduce the bone problem. I believe that lupron and tamoxifen are not supposed to be giving together, hence I would delay the tamoxifen treatment to get the lupron... Another thing is I am scared to death of the lupron side-effects... My GYN is willing to do a laparoscopic surgery to remove most of the endo next week, but still wants me on Lupron after the surgery. If I do not use the lupron my GYN said he cannot help me anymore and I would have to find someone else... I am so at lost and scared, and the pain won't stop either... Please, help, I don't know what to do...
